Happy Valentine's Day -- I love SEVEN!

Happy Valentine's Day!

                     I love seven –  as  a 

                                                          five-

                                                        letter

     word

    or

  as

            an                    

                                            acute     

                                        angle.

     Not only is seven prime, it is the number

     of my granddaughters who all like math --
     I want to make a mountain to celebrate 
     the girls and the women they become . . .  
     The mothers whose children learn to count by sevens,
     the teachers whose pupils proclaim pi   
     and welcome numbers useful everywhere . . .

     In my mother’s generation and still it lingers
     the woman must be twice as good 
     as any man to be the one
     for the job or the prize
     or even admiration . . .
     For our women let us pay
     close attention to the numbers

     And for our girls . . .
